What is erectile dysfunction?

Erectile dysfunction is the failure to have an erection that is strong enough to have sexual intercourse. It can also be called impotence. Although, is not all men that are suffering from erectile dysfunction. Sexual dysfunction can be premature ejaculation or delayed ejaculation.

  • Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs:

Examples of these drugs are Naproxen and Indomethacin.

  • Muscle relaxants drugs:

Examples of these drugs are Cyclobenzaprine and Orphenadrine.

  • Prostate cancer medications:

Examples of these drugs are Flutamide and Leuprolide.

  • Chemotherapy drugs:

Examples of these drugs are Busulfan and Cyclophosphamide.

  1. Kegel exercise:

This is an exercise that is being used for locating the muscles in the lower pelvis by stopping your urine several times during urination. The muscles you used in doing this are the ones you have to exercise. In order to perform a rep of kegel exercises:

  • Squeeze your muscles
  • Hold it for five seconds
  • Then relax

You can repeat this exercise 10 to 20 times by doing do this two or three times a day.  This can be done by sitting on a chair, standing erect and lying down with your knees up.

     2. Aerobic exercise:

  • L-Arginine:

This is an amino acid that can be found in poultry, red meat, dairy products, and fish. They help in increasing blood flow and expanding blood vessels. When the amino acid (L-Arginine) is taken as an oral supplement, the body converts it to L-Arginine and helps in the treatment of impotence.

In spite of the name, this vitamin helps erection, but not libido. Its scientific name is “Epimedium”. The Chinese have used it for many centuries in treating erectile dysfunction. Fisch says, “A growing body of research shows that isolated icariin—the extract of epimedium—inhibits the enzyme phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) and significantly increases nitric oxide synthase, helping to improve erectile function”.

  • Vitamin B3 (Niacin):

A day to day dosage of Vitamin B3 can enhance erectile dysfunction especially in men having high cholesterol according to a study in 2011. Niacin aids in increasing blood flow and fight against inflammation. The vitamin is used in the production of sex hormones and other vital chemical signal molecules. Niacin is a very powerful vitamin.

  • Panax Ginseng:

The Chinese have been considering Panax Ginseng as an aphrodisiac for many centuries. There is more to Ginseng than just energy.
